We are always on the lookout for experienced tax lawyers. Even if there is no vacancy at the time of applying, we will make positions for the right people.

Lawyers with double degrees in Accounting/Business/Commerce and Law who have real experience in taxation matters (Stamp Duty, CGT, Trusts, Business Structures, SMSF, Debt Equity Rules, Thin Capitalisation, etc) are always welcome to apply.


Early each calendar year, we hire two or more law graduates who enjoyed and excelled at taxation subjects as part of their university education, who have completed their PLT placement and who are keen to develop their taxation knowledge. 

Candidates who also have Accounting, Business or Commerce degrees are well considered.

Your practical legal training will continue after you commence with Cleary Hoare. Not only will you participate in our two year in-house training program but you will receive ongoing one-on-one mentoring with a Principal of the firm who is also a tax specialist. 

Vacation Clerk Program

Even if you haven't graduated, we offer four week placements to law students who will be admitted in the next 6 months. The vacation clerk program is an opportunity for you to check out if Cleary Hoare is for you, and for us to do the same. Many of today's vacation clerks will start our graduate program later.
